Repetition is the key to building muscle memory, by taking a couple of minutes a day to go through a series of land based core drills to help you build muscle memory while helping you to develop and structure your surfing with good technique. These core drills are based around the 3 key factors involved with the body mechanics of surfing, footwork, compression and rotation. Also featured are core drills aimed at helping you develop better balance, core strength and stability. ...they say for every hour we spend in the ocean paddling and positioning, we only spend about a minute on the deck of our board! so when you do the maths its a no brainer that it would pay to go through the body mechanics required for surfing on land before surfing.
It takes such a little amount of time if done little and often to build good core balance, and every now and then, if your lucky, you might get a cuppa tea out of it.
